Andrew did an undergraduate degree in English Literature at the University of St Andrews before accepting a position as a language teacher in Japan through the JET Programme. He lived and worked in Saitama Prefecture teaching English language at three secondary schools in the area, to classrooms of forty teenagers.
After returning to the UK in early 2020, Andrew decided on a career shift and began his legal studies, completing the Post Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP University followed by the Bar Vocational Course at the University of Law. He also provided pro-bono immigration services as part of his time at the University of Law.
Andrew subsequently worked as a paralegal at a financial services company, where his varied responsibilities included reviewing and amending contracts, often as part of negotiating with potential clients, as well as legal research on matters as varied as whether a deathbed gift made in South Africa is valid in Jersey, to the applicability of the Russian sanctions regime to specific securities.
Andrew subsequently provided advocacy services through LPC Law, which provided him valuable court experience.
Andrew joined Guildford Chambers as a civil pupil in October 2025.
