Following completion of the BPTC, Ruth worked as Judicial Assistant to both Lord Justice Peter Jackson and Lord Justice Baker in the Court of Appeal. She worked on family appeals, preparing bench memoranda and attending hearings and meetings. Ruth has also worked as a County Court advocate, attending various civil hearings, whilst maintaining her interest in family law through volunteering as a child advocate, voicing children’s thoughts and feelings throughout Local Authority involvement.

Ruth joined Guildford Chambers as a family pupil in October 2022.


Further information

In her spare time, Ruth likes to play netball and is an active volunteer and chaperone of an amateur dramatic society, currently heading up the Junior Involvement scheme. Ruth likes to go on walks with her dog and watch sport with her friends.
